Tune Ups
Marine engines work hard. They operate in a demanding environment — exposed to water, salt, humidity, and wide temperature swings — and they are often pushed to their limits during a full season on Lake of the Woods. Over time, spark plugs wear out, fuel filters become restricted, timing drifts, and small issues compound into bigger ones. An engine that is running slightly out of tune may not feel noticeably different on the water at first, but it is burning more fuel, producing less power, and putting more stress on internal components with every hour it runs. A tune-up catches and corrects all of these issues before they become serious problems.
Our tune-up service at Nestor Falls Marine & Sports covers all the critical components that affect your engine's performance and reliability.
Our certified technicians inspect and replace spark plugs to ensure clean, consistent ignition across all cylinders. We inspect and replace the fuel filter to guarantee clean fuel delivery to the engine. The ignition timing is checked and adjusted to manufacturer specifications for optimal combustion efficiency. The throttle and choke linkage are inspected and adjusted for smooth, responsive operation. We also inspect the fuel lines, primer bulb, and connections for cracks, wear, or leaks that could affect fuel delivery or create a safety hazard on the water. The cooling system is checked to confirm proper water flow and thermostat operation, and all grease points and cables are lubricated to keep everything moving freely and precisely.
